Not much argument needs to be made that new Honda vehicles are a smart and practical buy based on their quality safety, performance, and efficiency features. However, we here at Rancho Santa Margarita Honda believe proving vehicle superiority is a good thing, and The Car Connection agrees. Recently, the auto website matched the Honda Odyssey against the Nissan Quest in the "Head-to-Head Minivan Face-Off."
In the end, there was little drama of a close race, as the 2012 Honda Odyssey beat the Quest in nearly every category, which included style, performance, features, quality, eco-friendly technology, and safety.
The new Odyssey held an advantage over its competitor earning both an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) 'Top Safety Pick' and a 'Five-Star Safety Rating' from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Quest on the other hand, garnered no such honors. The Honda minivan also offers much more space and room with fold down seating giving it the edge over the Quest. While it wasn't a clean sweep for the Odyssey, The Car Connection determined that the 2012 Odyssey was a clear winner, with some of the best handling and steering in the minivan segment.
The one thing that probably trumps all the style, performance and safety features of the Odyssey is the price. The Honda minivan comes in with a starting MSRP of nearly $3,000 less than its competition, giving it another check in the winner's category.
